한국어 초록

The purpose of this study is to search school social workers' roles in community agency. Respondents are asked to answer two questions: ① "how often was the role performed?" , ② "How important was the role for a school social worker?". The study also investigated factors of each social workers' role. The subjects of 57 social workers were purposively collected from twenty-three community agencies and two consultation offices for youth in Seoul, Punchun, Pusan, and Taegu. The measurements were the lists of school social worker's roles which were studied by L.B.Costin in 1969.
The results of the study would recommend as follows:
1) To improve a school social workers' role, social workers have to apply various intervention skills like ① personal service to the teacher, ②leadership and policy-making, and ③ interpreting school social work service.
2) It is necessary for school social workers to define the concept of school social workers' role. Also, it is an important thing that distinguishes social wokers' roles from other specialists' in school settings. School social workers have got to collaborate with other experts in order to solve various problems of students.
3) Social workers should strive to practice school social work in educational systems. Social workers who practice school social work in communities have to demonstrate positive effects of school social werkers' interventions.
