이 연구의 목적은 크게 두 가지로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 우선 하나는 MBTI 성격검사를 통해 전문대학 여대생들의 16 성격유형 분포를 확인하고 또 진로탐색검사를 통해 각 전공별 직업선호의 경향을 파악하는 것이며, 다른 하나는 검사결과로 분류된 성격유형과 Holland식의 진로탐색검사 결과간의 상관관계를 파악하는 것이다. 따라서 연구 문제는 첫째, 전문대학 여대생의 성격유형 분포를 알아보고 각 전공별(컴퓨터공학, 관광, 디자인, 교육, 간호)로 학생들의 성격유형에 차이가 있는지 살펴본다. 둘째, 각 전공별로 Holland 이론에 따른 학생들의 직업선택경향 분포를 파악하고, 셋째, MBTI의 검사에 의해 나타난 성격유형과 Holland의 진로탐색검사에 의한 RIASEC 결과에 어떤 상관이 있는지 파악한다. 연구대상으로는 인천의 K전문대학 여대생 548명이 참여하였고, 연구도구로는 MBTI성격유형 검사와 Holland의 진로탐색 검사를 사용하였다. 통계적 처리는 SPSS프로그램을 사용하여 각

The purpose of this study is largely divided into two. On the one hand it examined the distribution of 16 personality type by the MBTI and 6 vocational preference by the Vocational Preference Inventory of female college students. On the other hand it aimed to make clear the relationship between personality type by the MBTI and vocational preference, RIASEC. The subjects for this study consisted of 548 female students in Incheon, whose subject is computer technology, design, tourism, education or nursing. T-test and ANOVA-test was used as statistical method.
The results was as follows ; The results showed that 74 students are ISTJ(N=74, 13.5%) and 64 students are ISFP(11.7%). Under the 4 personality type indicator the difference of S and N is most evident; 442 subjects showed S(sensation) indicator(80.5%). In the vocational preference most students showed S(social)(N=306, 57%) in all the major. Significant differences are found in Artistic(A), Social(S), Enterprising(E) preference between Es and Is, and in Investigative(I), Artistic(A), Conventional(C) preference between Ss and Ns, and in all other preferences without A between Ts and Fs, and finally significant differences are found only in C between Js and Ps. Es prefer evidently social and entreprising work and Ns prefer investigative and artistic work, Ss conventional works. Fs prefer social work in contrast to Ts, who prefer realistic and investigative work. 4 Temperaments personality type(SJ, SP, NF, NT) also showed significant differences in R, I, A, S, C preferences except E.
The overall results in this study suggest that personality type is in the relation to the vocational preference, and choices in subject are influenced to some extent by personality type in relation to vocational preference.
