현대사회를 흔히 다문화(多文化), 다원화(多原化)의 시대로 부른다. 이런 포스트모더니즘적인 경향이 한국에서는 두 가지 의식으로 나타나는데, 하나는 세계화의 지구촌 의식과 다른 하나는 한국의 주체성, 정체성 강화의 움직임이다. 7차 교육과정의 목표가 ‘21세기의 세계화, 정보화시대를 주도할 자율적이고 창의적인 한국인 육성’이며, 미술과 개정의 중점 사항중의 하나가 우리미술문화에 대한 주체성을 확립할 수 있도록 전통미술을 강조하고 있는 것을 보면, 이 두 가지 중 어느 하나도 간과하지 않은 것이다. 즉, 다른 문화의 이해를 위해서는 먼저 자신의 전통문화에 대한 이해가 선행되어야 하며, 전통미술의 교육을 통해 우리나라 미술의 전통성을 이해하고 계승․발전시켜 나갈 수 있을 것이다.영어 초록
Traditional art education is focused on for the achievement of purpose for the art education in the seventh curriculum. Nevertheless, it is not achieved systematically because the idea of what and how to teach is not established in the field of traditional art. In other words, the instructional program of traditional art able to be utilized is insufficient. In this sense, this study was investigated on the purpose of helping re-appreciation and understanding of traditional figure design through consolidated activities of understanding, discovery, expression and appreciation by suggesting the instructional program of figure design through understanding of traditional figure design.The subject of the study was elementary school students. In the preceding study, it was investigated that the analysis on reality of traditional art instruction through traditional figure design and teachers' demands and the standard of interests and perception was grasped and suggested through the questionnaire research for teachers and students respectively. For the comprehension study, the idea, kinds and the meaning of traditional figure design on the basis of reference books and connected data was investigated and for the discovery study, the activities of investigation on the relation of representative meaning and actual life in the traditional figure design were investigated.
The program was developed into three parts of explaining, expression and appreciation; Traditional figure design was divided and expressed into three parts of exorcising, fertility and peace and the works were explained logically by themselves and appreciated by comparing with others' works. The program was applied to the subjects and effectiveness of this program was investigated by suggesting the response of them through the formative test questionnaire according to the respective activities.
The important point of the traditional art instruction is to find and enjoy the traditional beauty in the daily lives in the view of cultural education. With this activities, Concerns and interests can be motivated toward the beauty of tradition by realizing newly and taking interests in the traditional figure design usually neglected and it can be utilized in the daily lives with re-appreciation by actualization of the contents though the expression activities.
