The purpose of this study is to establish fundamental knowledge on the experience of the resource developing processes as a strategy for changes of communities while appling social capital perspective. This study was executed by using the grounded theory method based on Strauss and Corbin(1998) and Corbin(2004). Interviews were conducted with 14 Korean practitioners(a general managers and an assistant managers) at community welfare center who have developed resources as a strategy of community change more than 3 years. Data were collected with in-depth interviews from October 2004 to March 2005, and signed consent forms were obtained from the participants before the interviews. Data collection and analysis were conducted simultaneously. The major findings of this study are as followed. As a results of data analysis, 178 concepts, 63 subcategories, 16 categories were revealed. According to the results of categorical analysis by the paradigm in axial coding, the central phenomenon was ‘creating an autogeny of community’. The four stages of the resource developing processes as a strategy for changes of communities were found: the stage of 'plotting and searching', the stage of 'discovering and understanding', the stage of 'participating and converting', and the stage of 'maintaining sustainability'. In conclusion, community change can be interpretated as 'assuring sustainable autogeny of communities though creating an autogeny of community'. And the stages of resources developing processes as a strategy for changes communities can be implicated in developing technologies for community practice and organization.
