This study aims to explore the relations among preschool children's peer accepance, mother's restrictiveness, gender, cognitive ability , and early peer relationship. The subjects of this study were 34 preschool children(18 boys) and their mothers. Instruments for the study were Learning- transfer Test by Jo, & Hwang (1990), a Sociometric test and a questionaire on mothers' restrictiveness. The major statistical methods for the analysis were pesrson r, and multiple regression.
The majof findings of this study were as follows :
Firtst preschool childern's peer acceptance was negatively related to mother's restrictiveness(r= -.65).
Second, the significant preditor of preshcool children's peer acceptance was mother's restrictiveness and of the independent varivbles accounted for proximally 51% of preschool children's peer acceptance.
