The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of computer work on musculoskeletal subjective symptoms and fatigue of the blind. In this study, the blind teachers and welfare workers, who were included in first and second disabled grade and were working at ten(10) schools for the blind in the whole country and three(3) welfare centers for the blind in Seoul, were investigated in musculoskeletal subjective symptoms and fatigue. As a result of analysing data for one hundred four(104) blind people, it came to follow conclusions.First, as we know from VDT work, the blind's computer work by auditory sense had also an effect on the ratio of complaints and prevalence in their musculoskeletal subjective symptoms.
Second, computer work using headset instead of external speaker showed significantly high value in the ratio of complaints and prevalence on the musculoskeletal subjective symptoms(p<.05).
Third, computer work using headset instead of external speaker showed significantly high score in the subjective symptoms of fatigue(p<.05).
Fourth, in comparison with computer work using external speaker, the work using headset showed higher value in the degree of pain from neck and shoulder and the ratio of symptom exacerbation.
In conclusion, the blind computer workers had musculoskeletal subjective symptoms and fatigue similar with VDT workers, and they felt more stress from using headset instead of external speaker.
