한국어 초록

정치는 기본적으로 가치에 대한 믿음과 상호소통의 문제이며 정치리더가 옳은 일을 수행할 것으로 믿는 대중들의 문제이다. 또한 정치리더의 세계관에 대한 믿음의 문제이며 그 세계관과의 동화의 문제이다. 이와같이 정치는 상징성의 문제이기에 현실정치에 있어서 정치적 실용과 진정성의 문제는 가치와 실행이란 또 다른 언어를 통해 끊임없이 확대 재생산된다.
본 연구는 대통령의 연설문 레토릭을 분석함으로써 대통령의 개인적 가치프레임과 그가 처한 시대적 배경에 대한 해석을 제공하고자 한다. 또한 레토릭의 다양한 구조와 내용을 분석함으로써 정치적 상징 이미지들이 어떻게 전달되고 있으며 이를 통해 대국민 설득을 시도한 특징을 비교 분석해 보고자 한다. 이를 위해 아리스토텔레스(Aristotle)로부터 이어지는 고대 수사학의 특징에 근거하여 페어클로프(Fairclough)가 분석방법으로 적용하였던 ‘비평적 담화분석’을 통해 연설문을 분석하고자 한다. 분석대상은 노무현 전 대통령과 이명박 대통령의 신년국정연설을 텍스트로 선정하여 두 대통령 연설문의 공통점과 차이점을 확인해보고 그들의 가치프레임과 정책적 정향을 살펴 볼 것이다.

영어 초록

Politics is about the faith on value and communication in principle, the issue of public that the political leaders would undertake right things, the issue of faith on point of view on world of political leaders and the issue of assimilation to the view point of the world. In addition, politics has the issue of symbolism that the issues of political practicality and genuineness in realistic politics are unyieldingly expanded and reproduced through different language in value and practice.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the rhetorics of presidential speeches to provide the individual value frame of presidents and interpretation on the background on era that they encountered with. In addition, by analyzing various structures and contents of the rhetorics, the attempt is made to on how the political symbolic images are delivered with the comparison and analysis of characteristics attempted to persuade people. For this purpose, the speeches are analyzed through the 'analysis of critical dicourse that Fairclough applied as his analysis method on the basis of the characteristics of ancient rhetorics that are handed down from the time of Aristotle. Subjects for analysis are the texts of the National Administrative Speeches of Former President Roh Moo-hyun and Current President Lee Myung-bak to confirm the common points and different points of these two presidents and take a look at their value frames and political tendencies.
