본 연구는 초등학생의 스트레스와 ‘빗속의 아이’(Child in the Rain) 그림에 나타난 반응 특성과의 관계 연구를 통해 ‘빗속의 아이’ 그림 검사가 스트레스 진단 척도로서 타당한 지의 여부를 검증하는데 목적이 있다.
조사대상은 경북 S군에 소재한 초등학교 3～6학년 아동 561명(남 : 302명, 여 : 259명)이었으며, 측정도구는 스트레스에 관한 자기기입식 설문지와 ‘빗속의 아이’ 그림을 받았으며, 자료 분석은 SPSS WIN 10.0 프로그램을 이용하여 처리하였다.
스트레스 척도의 신뢰도는 Cronbach’ α 계수를 이용하였고, 조사대상자의 일반적 특성은 빈도분석(Frequency)을 사용하였다. ‘빗속의 아이’ 그림 반응 특성에 따른 스트레스의 차이 검정은 일원변량 분석(one way ANOVA)을 사용하였으며, 성별과 학년에 따른 ‘빗속의 아이’ 그림 반응 특성의 차이 검정은 교차 분석(chi-squares analysis)을 실시하였다. 환경 변인이 스트레스에 미치는 영향력을 알아보기 위해서 중다회귀 분석(multiple regression)을 실시하였다.
본 연구 결과를 통해 얻은 결론은 아래와 같다.
첫째, 대상자가 지각하는 일상적 스트레스 수준은 5점 만점에서 M=1.97로 나타났으며, 학업 관련(M=2.47), 부모 관련(M=2.11)순으로 높게 나타났고, 가정 관련(M=1.63)에서 가장 낮게 나타났다.
둘째, 아동의 스트레스 수준에 영향을 미치는 사회인구학적인 변인으로는 ‘성별, 양친 유무, 가족유형, 형제수, 건강상태, 게임시간’에서 유의미한 결과를 보였고, 심리적 변인으로는 ‘부․모와의 관계 만족도, 가정분위기 만족도, 용돈만족도, 학교성적 만족도, 학교생활 만족도, 친구관계 만족도’ 등에서 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다.
셋째, 성별에 따른 ‘빗속의 아이‘ 그림은 ‘비의 세기, 비의 방향, 번개, 웅덩이, 비와 사람과의 관계, 그린 순서’ 등에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 학년에 따른 ‘빗속의 아이’ 그림은 ‘비의 양, 구름 모양, 웅덩이, 비와 사람과의 관계, 웅덩이와 사람과의 관계, 그린 순서, 용지의 방향’ 등에서 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다.
넷째, ‘빗속의 아이’ 그림의 특성에 따른 스트레스 수준은 비의 세기, 구름의 양, 그린 순서’ 등에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다.

영어 초록

This study purports, first, to show whether the 'Child in the Rain' test could be an apt
measurement to diagnose children's stress level by examining co-relationship between kid's
stress level and their personal responses when exposed to the 'Child in the Rain' test.
Subjects for the study are 561 elementary school kids (male 302, female 259), third to sixth graders, in the city of S township, Kyungbuk province. Measurement tools are the drawing 'Child in the Rain' and the questionnaire about stress, and SPSS WIN 10.0 is used
of data analysis. For general features of the subjects, frequency analysis is used. The method of differentiating stress through the responses on th drawing 'Child in the Rain' employs ANOVA; different responses on the drawing according to gender and grade employs chi-square analysis and employs multiple regression analysis for environmental causes on stress.
The results obtained from the study are as follows.
First, average stress level of the whole subject group reaches M=1.97 out of total 5
points next to those of academic related stress(M=2.47) and parent related stress(M=2.11),
while home related stress(M=1.63) scores the lowest.
Second, the socio-population factors giving some significant difference on kids' stress level are the number of siblings, gender, health condition, family structure, time of cyber game and survival of parents, For psychological factors some significant differences are shown in kid's relation with fathers, family atmosphere, allowance satisfaction, academics, school life, and relations with friends. This means kid's stress are strongly influenced by psychological factors.
Third, Gender difference also shows significant differentiation in intensity of raining and
direction of rain, lightening, water puddles, relation between rain and person and sequence
of drawing.
different graders in drawing 'Child in the Rain' show some significant difference in quantity of rain, shapes of clouds, water puddles, relations between rain and person and between puddles and parson, sequence of drawing., and direction of the drawing paper.
Fourth, the stress level presented on the features of 'Child in the Rain' has significant difference in intensity of rain, quantity of clouds, and sequence of drawing.
