본 연구는 온라인 학습공동체에서 학습자 특성, 학습자간 상호작용, 학습결과 간에 상호관련성이 어떻게 나타나는지를 규명하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구를 위해 온라인학습공동체에 참여하여 활동하는 중학교 1∼2학년 학생 24명을 대상으로 사회과 통합학습과제를 가지고 4주 동안 수행하도록 하였다. 사전지식 검사지, 언어·대인·자성지능 검사지를 활용하여 네 가지 학습자 특성의 수준을 파악하고, 사회연결망 분석도구로 학습자간상호작용 지수를 측정하였으며, 산출물 평가도구로 학업성취도를 평가하였다. 변인간의 상관분석결과, 학습자 특성에서 사전지식이 수신·발신 상호작용 활동과 학습결과와 각각 상관이 나타났으며, 수신·발신 상호작용은 학습결과와 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 회귀분석결과는 사전지식이 수신·발신 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 학습자 특성 중 사전지식과 자성지능이 학습결과에 영향을 미치고, 수신·발신 상호작용 모두 학습결과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영어 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among learner characteristics,interactions, and learning outcome in the online learning community (OLC). The subjects of thisstudy were 24 first- and second-year middle school students of both sexes in OLC. Data weregathered for four weeks and analyzed by multiple correlation and multiple regression amongseven variables. Based on a literature review of learning processes in OLC and previous studies on group interactions variables, a research model consisted of the input, process, and output variables: the input variables were four learner characteristics such as prior knowledge and three intelligences (verbal-linguistics, interpersonal, and intra-personal), the process variables involved two interactions such as in-degree centrality and out-degree centrality, and the output variable was learning outcome. The research instruments used in conducting the experiment were OLC environments, learning tasks, prior knowledge test, multiple intelligence test (verbal-linguistic/interpersonal/ intra-personal intelligence), interaction analysis tools (social network analysis), and achievement evaluation tools. The results of multiple correlation indicate there is significant correlation between prior knowledge and in-degree centrality, proir knowledge and out-degree centrality, and proir knowledge and learning outcome. Moreover, each in-degree centrality and out-degree centrality have significant correlation with learning outcome. Multiple regression analysis revealed that prior knowledge and intra-personal intelligence have significant effect on learning outcome. Prior knowledge affects on both in-degree centrality and out-degree centrality but verbal-linguistics, interpersonal, and intra-personal don't have significant effect on degree centrality. And in-degree and out-degree centrality have significant effect on learning outcome.Key words : Online learning community, Learner characteristics, Peer interactions, Social network analysis
