한국어 초록
This paper describes an initiative designed to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics in the early school years in New Zealand. The first part of the paper presents an overview of key features of the numeracy initiative. Data on the impact of the initiative on teachers and students is described. The magnitude of the project’s impact on students’ mathematical learning is reported as effect sizes, calculated by comparing slightly older students (from the adjacent age-group) acting as a “control” group, with the “treatment” group.
