우리나라는 최근 급속한 경제성장으로 생활수준이 향상되었고, 교통수단의 발달과 서구화된 식습관, 좌업의 생활은 신체활동 부족을 가져와 비만발생률이 모든 연령층에서 문제로 부각되고 있다. 비만은 초등학교 아동에서 발생률이 더 높은데 이는 성장 후에도 지속되어 생리적인 문제뿐 아니라 가족 간의 유대, 친구관계, 자아상에도 악영향을 끼쳐 개인 뿐 아니라 사회적으로도 큰 영향을 미치게 된다(김이순, 송미경, 주현옥, 신유선, 2002; 박정숙, 2009; WHO, 2006).영어 초록
"The purpose of this study explores the relationships between physical education attitudes and physical activity participation in overweight and normal weight elementary school students. BMI levels(overweight vs. normal weight) and gender also examined regarding their influence on physical education attitude and physical activity participation. 487 school children(10~12 years) were surveyed in Jeollabukdo M city․H county and Gwangju Metropolitan were classified as overweight and rest as normal weight according to the age-and gender- specific cut off points for children's BMI. For children. Results demonstrated that a positive relationship between physical education attitude and physical activity participation was established. When the children were separated by body weight groups, the relationship between physical education attitude and physical activity participation was attenuated significantly in overweight children. With regards to the gender difference, boys were found to have a significantly higher physical education attitude and physical activity participation than girls. A positive relationship between physical education attitude and physical activity participation was established in the children. Children in this study did have different physical education attitude and physical activity participation based on body weight. Regarding gender difference, a significant difference is found only in physical education attitude and physical activity participation between boys and girls.※ Key words : BMI, overweight, normal weight, physical education attitude, physical activity participation"
