ABSTRACT

한국어 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 고학년 남녀 아동이 지각한 사회적 지지와 진로발달의 관계를 분석하는데 있다. 사회적 지지와 진로발달 및 두 변인의 관계에서 나타나는 성별 차이를 알아보되, 사회적 지지를 지지원과 지지유형으로 구분하여 분석하였다.
인천시의 4개 초등학교 6학년 372명을 연구대상으로 하여 사회적 지지 척도 검사, 진로발달 척도 검사를 실시한 후 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 사용하여 t검증과 상관분석을 한 결과, 여아가 남아보다 사회적 지지를 높게 지각하였는데, 사회적 지지원에서는 아버지 지지와 친구지지를, 그리고 사회적 지지유형에서는 정보지지, 도구지지, 평가지지를 더 높게 지각으며, 여아는 남아보다 진로발달의 수준도 더 높게 나타났다. 그러나, 남아와 여아 모두 사회적 지지원과 진로발달은 유의미한 정적 상관을 보여, 사회적 지지원과 진로발달의 관계에서나 사회적 지지유형과 진로발달의 상관관계에서도 성별의 차이는 없었다. 즉, 여아가 남아에 비해 사회적 지지를 높게 지각하고 진로발달 수준도 높으나, 초등학교 고학년 아동의 진로발달은 성별에 따라 어떤 특정한 지지유형이나 지지원과 상관이 있는 것
이 아니라 다양한 지지원으로부터 다양한 유형의 지지를 많이 받을수록 진로발달 수준이 높음을 의미한다.

영어 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the social support and the career development perceived by male and female 6th graders. It aims to find gender difference both in the social support and in the career development; analyze the relationship between the two variables; find out gender differences in the degree of the relationship. Especially, the social support that the elementary students perceived was distinguished by the sources of social support and types of social support, putting the focus of the study on analyzing their relationships with the career development.
For this, the social support scale and career development scale were administered to 372 6th graders in four elementary schools in Incheon. After conducting t-test and correlation analysis, using SPSS18.0 program for the statistical analysis, the result were as follows:.
First, female students perceived the social support higher than male students. In the sources of social support, they perceived father’s support and friend’s support higher. In the types of social support, they perceived information support, instrument support, and evaluation support higher. In addition, female students had higher level of career development than male students. Female students made more search about studying and occupation than male students,
and did more career planning activities.
Second, both female and male students showed significant positive correlation between the sources of social support and the career development. Thus, there was no gender difference in the relationship of the sources of social support and the career development. That is, regardless of gender, the more the 6th graders perceive social support from father, mother, teacher, and friend, the higher the level of career development.
Third, there was significant positive correlation between the types of social support and the career development for both male and female students. Therefore, there was no gender difference in the correlation between the types of social support and the career development. This means that the career development of 6th graders do not show gender differences in correlation with the types of social support, but that it has correlation with all supports of emotion, information, instrument, and evaluation.
