LF norm, HF norm, LF/HF ratio

This study was conducted to understand the effect of brain dance programon the changes of stress hormones and the autonomic nervous system of
teenaged victims of school violence. The study subjects were 13 teenaged
victims of school violence who visited a youth protection center in Daejeon.
Dividing them into a control group and an experimental group who
participated in the brain dance program that was developed by Anne Green
Gilbert, which was conducted twice a week for twelve weeks. For stress
hormones, cortisol, epinephrine and norepinephrine were analyzed through
blood analysis while LF norm, HF norm and LF/HF ratio were analyzed
through SA-3000p for the test of autonomic nervous system. SPSS 18.0 was
used for data analysis while conducting Wilcoxon's test and paired t-test.
The study findings are as follows: The cortisol epinephrine and norepinephrine,
all of which are the subordinate variables of stress hormone variables, showed
significant differences in accordance with the treatment(p<.05), which were
decreased by brain dance program. The LF norm, HF norm and LF/HF ratio
of the autonomic nervous system showed significant differences in
accordance with the treatment(p<.05), which were increased by brain dance
program. As a result, it is considered that the brain dance program brought
positive changes to stress management of the victimized teenagers of school
violence. It is also expected to be effectively used as an educational program
for the victimized teenagers of school violence in the future.
