한국어 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 1∼2학년군에서 사용되고 있는 기본교육과정의 국어과와 수학과 교과
서의 적용실제와 과제에 대해 알아보고자 설문조사를 하였다. 설문은 2013년 6월 20일부터
7월 3일까지 2주간에 걸쳐 실시되었으며, 연구대상은 현재 1～2학년을 지도하고 있는 특수
학교와 특수학급 교사들로 국어과 교사는 67명, 수학과 교사는 58명이었다. 연구결과 국어
교과서의 방향은 교육목표를 잘 구현하고 있으나, 구성 체제에서 기초학습, 주요학습, 보충
심화 활동의 전개와 학습자의 발달단계와 생활연령을 고려하는 정도 등이 미흡하여 교사들
이 교과서를 활용하는데 어려움을 느끼고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 교과서의 내용에서는 교과
서에 선정된 주제가 학생들의 참여를 충분히 이끌어 내지 못하고, 교과서의 내용수준이 학
생들의 수준에 걸맞지 않다는 의견이 절반이상으로 나타났다. 교과서의 활용을 위한 지원에
서는 교과서의 내용을 주로 하는 웹사이트 구축에 대한 요구가 높았으며, 교과서 보급과 연
수에 대한 불만이 높은 것으로 나타났다.
수학과 교과서의 경우 교과서의 방향과 구성 체제는 잘 갖추어져 있으나, 교과서의 내용에
서는 학생들의 수준을 고려하여 적용하는데 어려움이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 교과서의 활용
을 위한 지원에서는 국어과와 마찬가지로 웹사이트 구축에 대한 요구가 높았으며, 교과서
보급과 교과서 활용 연수에 대한 불만이 높은 것으로 나타나 보완이 시급하다고 할 수 있
다. 현행 교과서는 기존교과서에 비해 교과서의 방향, 구성 체제, 내용 등에 대한 만족이 높
은 것으로 나타났으나, 학생들의 발달 수준에 대한 고려, 웹사이트 구축, 교과서의 공급과
활용 연수 등에 교사들의 요구가 높아 이에 대한 대책 마련이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

영어 초록

This study was conducted to explore the application and task of textbooks
in basic Korean language and mathematics curriculum used in first to second
grade classes in elementary school. The survey was carried out from June
20, 2013 to July 3, 2013 for 2 weeks. The research subjects consisted of
teachers in special schools and teachers in charge of first-second grade
students, 67 of whom were teachers in Korean language and 58 of whom
were mathematics teachers.
This study showed that teachers had difficulty in the application of their
textbooks because of insufficient considerations about the basic learning,
main learning, the development of supplementary and intensified activities,
the developmental stage of learners, and the chronological age in the
organization system of the Korean language textbooks. More than half of the
participants agreed that the themes selected could not lead the students to
take part in the class actively and that the level of the content was not
suitable for the level of the students. In supporting the application of the
Korean language textbook, the demand for web site implementation mainly
based on the contents of the textbook was high, and there was a high level
of dissatisfaction for the distribution of textbooks as well as for the
implementation of applicable training.
In the case of the mathematics textbook, this study showed that the
teachers had difficulty with application for the level of the students regarding
the contents of the textbook. Similarly to the application of the Korean
language textbook, there was a high demand for web site implementation
based on the contents of the book and there was a high level of
dissatisfaction for the distribution of textbooks as well as for the
implementation of applicable training; therefore additional measures seem to
be an urgent need.
In conclusion, while teachers expressed a high satisfaction concerning the
direction of the textbook, organization system, and contents, they indicated a
high demand for considerations for the developmental stages of the students,
web site implementation, distribution of textbooks, and applicable training for
the textbooks now in use compared to the existing textbook. Therefore, this
study suggests that considering plans for improvement is necessary.
