본 연구는 민속놀이 프로그램을 재구성 및 실행하는 과정에서 나타난 현상을 알아보고, 이를 통한 교육적 의미를
탐구한 연구로 제기차기, 사방치기, 말타기, 투호넣기, 긴줄넘기, 굴렁쇠 굴리기의 6가지 놀이를 선정하여 실행하
였다. 첫째, 계획단계에서 기능 습득을 위해 노력하는 가운데 어려움과 뿌듯함을 느꼈다. 둘째, 실행단계에서 학
생들은 민속놀이 대해 낯설음과 친숙함을 동시에 느꼈으며, 민속놀이 시간을 기다리는 시간으로 인식하게 되었다.
또한 협동심이 길러지고, 체력이 향상되었으며, 가족과 건강한 여가 생활을 즐기게 되었다. 셋째, 반성단계에서는
기능 수준별 지도와 지나친 승부욕으로 인해 어려움을 겪었지만 민속놀이 수업의 전이효과로 다른 수업시간에까
지 적극적인 참여 태도를 이끌어냈으며, 수업시간 이외로 연장되어 전교 프로그램에까지 확대되었다. 이상의 결
과를 통한 교육적 의미로는 모두가 즐겁게 참여하고, 활동적인 여가 생활을 영위하게 되었으며, 실행 과정에서의
참여자들의 신체적·정신적 성장 등이다. 보다 효율적인 현장 적용을 위한 제언으로는 학년별· 지역별 특성에 맞
는 다양한 실행연구와 보다 쉽게 할 수 있는 구체적인 민속놀이 프로그램 개발이 요구된다.

영어 초록

The purpose of the study was to understand the phenomenon in the process of re-structuring and practicing
folk play programs in 2007 elementary physical education curriculum and its educational means. The data
were analyzed using taxonomic analysis and componential analysis. The researchers analyzed and reorganized
the folk play activities in 2007 elementary physical education. curriculum, then selected six activities such as
Jegi, hopscotch, horse riding, Tuho, long-rope skipping, and hoop driving. In the planning process, we had
some difficulties in motor skill acquisition, but felt great about it. In the class, students showed both
intimateness and unfamiliar feelings about the folk plays, and they eagerly anticipated the physical education
class. Furthermore, the teamwork and physical fitness also developed while enjoying the folk plays with their
family members as a means of sound leisure life. In the reflection process, the researchers encountered
unexpected difficulties such as teaching students from diverse skill levels or dealing with high competitive
spirit; however, the folk play program had positive influence in various aspects. For example, the students
stay active and positive in and out of the physical education classroom, and the program expanded to the
school Saturday Sport Program. It was concluded that the educational means of the program summarized into
three themes: participation with enjoyment, leading to active leisure time, and physical/mental development of
the participants. Further study might investigate variety of action research relevant to grade level and regional
characteristics and the development of simple and concrete folk play programs, that is geared toward effective
field application.
