Purpose: This study was to identify the health attitude according to personal characteristics of Chinese Students in Korea.
Methods: The subjects were 115 Chinese students studying in two university in Chungnam province. The data were collected
by standardized questionnaires and PASW 18.0 program was used to analyze the data with descriptive statitics, t-test,
and ANOVA. Results: The average score of health attitudes was 43.33±13.17, generally positive in their 'feelings', 'beliefs',
and 'intentions to act' toward health attitudes. There was a significant differences in 'feelings' according to major field, economic
status, residual type, level of Korean language, 'beliefs' according to age, major field, economic status, residual type,
residual period, level of Korean language, 'intentions to act' according to gender, age, major field, economic status, residual
type, residual period, level of Korean language. Also there was a significant differences in 'feelings', 'beliefs', and 'intentions to
act' according to level of General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) in personal characteristics. Conclusion: Individual characteristics
influenced Chinese students attitudes towards health and measurement which incorporated 'feelings', 'beliefs', and 'intentions to
act' as components of health attitudes provide a clearer picture of where these influences lie. Further research is advocated
to replicate these finding in a broader sample and determine their implications in the design of primary prevention strategies.
