한국어 초록

본 연구자는 초등교사의 전문성의 근거를 확보하기 위해 무엇보다도 초등교육
의 개념과 위상을 좀 더 새롭게 재개념화 하는 과정에서 탐구해보았다. 곧, 존
듀이의 Progressive Education 이론과 Meta Learning적인 특성에 근거하여 초등교
육을 재개념화 해 놓은 엄태동의 소론에 의거해서 초등교육의 전문성의 터를 잡았
다. 그리고, 그 바탕위에서 초등교사의 전문성의 근거를 마련해보았다. 아울러서
이를 바탕으로 초등교사가 마땅히 지녀야할 국어능력의 범주를 탐구하되, 기존
연구 결과를 토대로 하고 여기에 초등교육의 개념과 특성에 따른 좀더 강조할 점
들을 덧붙이면서, 초등교사가 지녀야할 국어능력을 열거해놓았다. 곧, 기존의 연
구자들이 거론해온 바, 기본적인 국어능력을 근간으로 두되, 앞서 초등교육의 특
성으로 제시한 두 가지 사항별로 나누어서 다음과 같이 열거한 것이다. 먼저 아동
중심 교육에 기여할 점으로는 ? 아동 이해를 위한 공감적 듣기 능력, ? 동심
이해를 위한 아동문학의 감상 향유 능력, ? 국어교육과정 성취기준 구현을 위한
PCK 구안 능력, 이상 세 가지를 좀 더 강조하자는 차원에서 열거했다. 그리고,
둘째 메타 학습적 기능에 충실하기 위해 확보할 국어능력으로는 ?국어수업 중의
발문 및 피드백 발언 능력, ?개인·단체를 대상으로 한 상담적 대화능력,?아동
을 대상으로 한 토의와 각종 회의 진행 사회 능력 들을 제언형식을 빌어 첨가 보완
하자는 뜻으로 제시해놓았다.

영어 초록

This research explored the concept and status of elementary school education
and the concerned re-conceptualization process to secure the grounds for the
professionalism of elementary school teacher. Based on the Progressive Education
theory of John Dewey and Meta Learning characteristics, the results of this study
provided basis for elementary school education in accordance with the opinion
of Eom Tae-dong who re-conceptualized the elementary school education. On
that basis, the professionalism grounds for elementary school teacher were
established.
Based on that, the category of Korean competence which the elementary
school teachers should naturally have was explored. The matters that need to be
emphasized more extensively were added to the results of preceding studies
based on the concept and characteristics of elementary school education, and
along with that, the Korean competence that elementary school teachers needed
to have was presented in detail. As the researchers of preceding studies have
claimed, the Korean competence was highlighted as pivotal aspect, and the
followings are listed based on the two matters presented as the characteristics of
elementary school education.
First, the aspects that would contribute to the child-oriented education was ? the empathetic listening ability for ensuring the understanding of children, ?
ability to enjoy the appreciation of children literature to understand the
innocence of childhood, ? PCK conceptualization ability to establish the achievement standards of education course, and all of those 3 aspects were
presented here for greater emphasis.
The Korean competence that needs to be secured to serve the Meta learning
functions earnestly was ① the written statement and feedback comment ability in
the Korean competence, ② consultative conversation ability for individuals and
groups, and ③ ability to preside over the discussions and various meetings
which target the children, all of which were presented in the form of
recommendation for supplementation and refinement.
