본 연구는 청소년의 우울과 학교적응과 의 관계에서 또래갈등해결 전략의 조절효과를 알아보
는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 분석대상은 경기도에 소재하는 4개 중학교 학생 441명이었다. 상관
관계 분석 결과 학교적응은 우울과 유의미한 부적상관을 보였다. 또한 학교적응은 협력유형
갈등해결전략과 유의미한 정적상관을 보였으며, 공격유형 및 회피유형 갈등해결전략과 유의
미한 부적상관을 보였다. 또래갈등해결전략과 우울 간의 관계에서 협력유형 갈등해결전략은
우울과 부적상관을 보였고, 공격유형과 회피유형 갈등해결전략은 우울과 정적상관을 보였다.
청소년의 학교적응과 우울과의 관계에서 또래갈등해결전략의 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 또래
갈등해결전략 중 회피유형이 학교적응과 우울 간의 관계에서 조절효과를 나타내는 것을 확인
할 수 있었다. 즉, 회피유형의 또래갈등해결전략은 학교적응과 우울의 부적관계를 더욱 유의
미하게 높이는 조절효과를 보였다. 위의 연구결과들을 바탕으로 청소년의 학교적응 및 우울
에 관한 폭넓은 이해와 우울을 예방하기 위한 바람직한 교육방법 및 효과적인 또래갈등해결
전략 활성화 방안에 대해 논의되었으며, 청소년 문제를 방지하기 위한 보다 구체적이고 다양
한 상담 개입 방안이 제안되었다.

영어 초록

This study recognizes the social issue of depression among adolescents, and examines the relationship between
depression and school adaptation as an environmental factor which may be considered a major prognostic of
depression. The aim of the study is to provide the basis for specific counseling and educational methods by
exploring the effects of moderation of peer conflict resolution strategies in relation to adaptation to school and
depression as experienced by adolescents. The subjects of this study were 441 students from 4 middle schools
located in Gyeonggi Province. Correlation analysis results showed that there was a significant negative correlation
between depression and adaptation to school. Cooperative type conflict resolution strategy showed a significant
positive correlation with adaptation to school, while aggressive and evasive type conflict resolution strategies
showed significant negative correlations. With regards to the relationship between peer conflict resolution
strategies and depression, cooperative type conflict resolution showed a negative correlation with depression, while
aggressive and evasive type peer conflict resolution strategies positive correlations with depression. With regards
to the relationship between adaptation to school and depression among adolescents, the analysis results pertaining
to peer conflict resolution strategies showed that of peer conflict resolution strategies, evasive type was the type
which showed a moderating effect in the relationship between adaptation to school and depression. In other
words, evasive type peer conflict resolution strategies have a moderating effect which significantly increases the
negative relationship between adaptation to school and depression. Based on the above research results,
discussions have gone underway regarding desirable educational methods to provide an in depth understanding of
adaptation to school and depression among adolescents and to prevent such depression. Also, a diversity of
specific consultation intervention measures have been suggested for the prevention of problems among adolescents.
