This study investigates the work-related risk factors of physical therapists, which influence neck, shoulder and back pain in order to provide fundamental data on the prevention of occupational musculoskeletal disorders. The research focused on 158 physical therapists working in the South GyeongSan area during February 2011. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire included 40 items related to general characteristics, work behavior, attitude at work, and stress at work. For neck pain, there was a significant result for standing duration, lowering head duration, walking duration, angel of bending forward, bending forward duration, working with a trunk rotation over 45° duration, working with arms above the shoulder duration, and holding an object duration (p<0.05). For shoulder pain, there was a significant result for standing duration, lowering head duration, walking duration, angel of bending forward and working while bending forward duration, working with a trunk rotation over 45° duration, working with arms above the shoulder duration, and weight of object being held (p<0.05). For lower back pain, there was a significant result for standing duration, squating duration, walking duration, angle and duration while bending over, working with a trunk rotation over 45° duration, working with arms above the shoulder duration, and weight, time and number of objects being held (p<0.05). There was a significant relationship between the severity of shoulder pain and work demands in job related stress. However, there was no significant difference according to level of interpersonal conflict and working condition. Above results suggested that forward trunk bending and lifting of heavy objects were significantly related to neck, shoulder and lower back pain in physical therapist. The results indicates that the education for proper posture and movement at the work place is needed to minimize the work-related pain and musculoskeletal disorders.참고 자료
