As we in this complex and diverse modern world are adjusting ourselves to the rapid growth, we are livingwith complicated psychological syndrome without knowing certain symptoms or ambivalence which is pretty
difficult for us to figure out.
As distinguishing true from false emotions is becoming a hot issue, we’re living in a flood of emotions.
However many people find it difficult controling and realizing their emotions, therefore they are easily swayed
by emotions and in a psychological conflict. For this reason the literary therapy is required to match up to
emotions of modern people which are changing every moment.
This paper that has attempted the methodological application of expression-centered healing writing is of
great significance as part of a literary therapy whose necessity is gradually on the rise. I used morphological
techniques(e.g, cinematic, theatrical and fractal techniques) shown in a variety of poems of Kim Hae-Soon for
the structured writing, attempting to expand styles of inner healing writing.
I targeted that participants enabled to newly discover the inner shape through motion depiction, specific
representation of act depiction and visual thinking, immersion through scene making, and overlapped fractal
images, and that they were aware of their in-depth emotions and enabled to relax feelings and heal trauma.
About 8 adults in their 30s and 40s who suffer from inner traumatic disorders were chosen as participants
for this study. 4 out of them completed this program which had six sessions, 80 minutes for each week. For
the first three sessions, participants started with general prose and completed a piece of writing with each
writing technique applied for the next three remaining sessions. Not setting a category of trauma, I left place
for examining which writing technique can help treat a certain wound better.
Before having a retrospective writing, they always meditated to release their negative emotions and focused
on realizing fear, anxiety and in-depth emotions.
Based on interviews with participants and emotional language skills, we clarified this study was realistic
and effective, and acquired such results.
Analyzing the in-depth dialogues which can be found in cinematic and the theatrical techniques helped the
participants with objectifying themselves and embarking on healing from their wounds through writing.
Moreover, writing poems by use of the fractal technique was quite effective in having a clear self-perception,
and they were able to heal their trauma by showing the circle of shadow.
