본문내용
What does reunification of North Korea and South Korea mean? It could be defined in many ways but it means make a single government politically and economically. The Korean peninsula has been divided between the capitalist South Korea and the communist North Korea since the end of the Second World War. People have been debating the pros and cons of North-South Korea reunification since 1948. The two countries share a common people, history and culture, and the political division of the peninsula is an artificial relic of the Cold War. The existing literature on the prospects for Korean unification focuses primarily on the economic consequences of unification. (Peloso, J. (Ed.). 2004). This is perfectly understandable in light of the gaping difference in income levels between the two Koreas and the large economic costs of unification for South Korea. Furthermore, the poor performance of the German economy since unification has highlighted the potentially adverse effects of unification for the Korean economy. Therefore it is important to take lessons from Germany unification history case and Korea government must take one step forward.
