1. The introduction of printing
William Caxton imported and set up England`s first printing press in 1476. Because of importing of printing, there was responsible for freezing English spelling. Printing made books available at a relatively low price, it led to and increased demand for books and literacy among the middle and lower class. However there was no opportunity for them to read book because books were written by Greek or Latin. Therefore, books written by Greek and Latin were translated into English. It led to the introduction of many loanwords from Latin and Greek into English. Furthermore, printing press set up in London, so many texts were written by London dialect, and then London dialect became the standard English.
2. English Renaissance(late 15c~16c)
English Renaissance is the revival of interest in classical learning resulted in translation of authors as homer, plato, etc. Translation brought classical loanwords into English. English authors tried to practice to developing English style. Moreover,
Renaissance led to improve of English in both quality and quantity.
3. The Protestant Reformation(16c)
Henry 8` request for divorce was denied, it led to separate of Protestants from the
Roman Catholic Church. Protestants recommended people to read the Bible. Therefore, there were many translations of the Bible such as Authorized Version by the King
