About 1 year ago, a teacher in middle school was caught spanking a child with a really thick stick on a child’s cell phone. The teacher spanked the child everywhere regardless of defending himself. The video shot from the student was released to the public and it made a shocking issue in Korea. According to the students, he was punished because of skipping classes in school. Recently, we’ve heard a lot of issues related to corporal punishment in the mass media. Some people agree with the teachers power to punish students claiming that it is a part of education. However, I would like to argue in this speech that physical punishment brings only temporary effects in correcting child’s behavior. In addition, it can humiliate a child by insulting his or her personality. Since this is my rough draft, I will illustrate 2 reasons to support my speech.
