Introduction
Among his 12 pieces of film, 9 film scenario were written by him. And his
films contains consistent mode. His story is small in its scale, but the
audience never feel his film as small scale. It shows his ability as an author.
He made the meaning of the film as philosophical and social things through
symbol, metaphor and fantasy. Thus this paper will find the relationship
among the symbol, metaphor and fantasy in his film, empty house(iron-3)
and will analyse about his potential as a author.<중략>
Fantasy
There`s some difference in degree, but narrative of his film is mainly
consisted of symbol and metaphor. However, the real power of his film is
came from the fantasy which was based on the symbol and metaphor. In this
film, fantasy -that was based on the symbol and metaphor- was used too.
Fantasy begins with a scene that Tea-suk exercises `became a shadow` in
the prison. But audience doesn`t think that fantasy begins from this scene.
The reason is that audience already attracted in the mood that was made by
symbol and metaphor. <중략>
