Into Thin Air by John Krakauer
1)Quotations& examples: “Most of the people who live in this rugged country seem to have no desire to be severed from the modern world or the untidy flow of human progress.”
Explanation: John Krakauer is surprised after witnessing the modernization of Sherpa community. Business of guiding people up to the mountain totally altered the Sherpa lifestyle. They own businesses, carry food to the mountain and assist guides to an expedition. There’s lots of competition to assist guides because they get paid a lot. Kraukauer express disappointment to the westernization of Sherpa community. John Krakauer can be considered ‘naturalist’ or ‘transcendentalist’ since he believes the separation of Sherpa community to the modern world.
2) Three Dog Night: “joy to the world”
1) quotations & examples:If I were the king of the world
Tell you what I`d do
I`d throw away the cars and the bars and the war
Make sweet love to you
Sing it now...
