‘In 1662 Samuel Pepys confided to his Diary that A Midsummer Night’s Dream W.1983)Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s romantic comedies. It may have been written around 1594 to 1596 and the play is widely performed across the world as a play, a musical, a film and TV productions. A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been described as a marriage celebration, the fantastic reality of the fairyland and the adventure of four young lovers who put romance at cross-purposes. Shakespeare introduces the themes of love, comedy and magic in A Midsummer night’s dreamnation? What things on the text helped people who were in Elizabeth and Jacobean time to construct the play? Firstly, I look Act3, Scene1carefully, so how did this text help to reconstruct the play; the characters of the play which display interesting qualities that make the play enjoyable, the direction and stage. Secondly, I talk about the setting of the play with dialogue. There is a lot of dialogue in the play which is very important as it sets the scene for the whole play. The lastly, I see the imagination of Shakespeare in the play.

To establish characters and demonstrate the three worlds in A Midsummer Night’s Dreamsrsonality and life because he behaves like a bottom and is in the bottom of society. He says silly sentences which make the audience laugh. For the fairy world, he makes fairy characters and their dialogues don’t sound real. By using his imagination, Shakespeare makes a fantasy dream and a comic happening. Also the audience can imagine the scene of the summer through the dialogues. By putting night setting, Shakespeare explains the crazy entanglement of lovers, magical beings, fairies, and artisans, is a dream. Throughout the play, with the nighttime atmosphere and the dreamy state of the characters is passed on to the audience.
