1. What does journalism look like when it comes through the camera`s eye?
Seeing is believing. It is the photograph that changes the stakes of journalism to the greatest degree. Images that are composite, more schematic than detailed, conventionalized and simplified work well as relays of news. When seen through the camera`s eye, journalism becomes more vivid, more accessible, more visible, and potentially understood with greater ease by a wider group of people than would be the case were photographs not part of news.
For example, Robert Capa, who was a famous war corresponder and risked his neck, took a photograph of the imminent situation in wars. And his pictures were realistic. Thus the general public were impressed with these pictures and had an illusion that they underwent many hurts of wars. Especially, the picture, `Death of a Loyalist Soldier(1936)`, in Spain showed the real moment of shooting death. But this picture incurred suspicion of the photo fakery because it was true to nature.
