Service is the main differentiator in the hospitality industry particularly the hotel market. Self service offers a different choice for the client to interface with the service offered and another opportunity to increase service. Routine tasks such as Check-in and Check out can be done faster and in simple ways through the use of automated device such as the hotel kiosks. (Hospitality Technology 2005)
Apart from that self service is gaining its momentum. Changes of clients’ behavior and technology have created wide acceptance of self service with regards to usability and eagerness to use kiosks. Consumers have now lesser time for routine and repetitive tasks and most of them are automated. They also prefer more predictable experience (Hospitality Technology 2005).
