As a growing number of people become interested in watching movies as a cultural activity, various types of films are introduced these days. Many people may argue that serious movies are better because people can think while watching them. However, I think that it is better to watch funny movies for two main reasons: people can relieve stress and they also can maintain good relationships with their loved ones.

First and foremost, people can relieve their stress and feel refreshed after watching entertaining films. In this competitive society, many people are likely to be stressed out and feel exhausted after a long day




In addition, entertaining movies can bring people closer together. Unlike serious movies that make people pay attention and think deeply, funny movies can help people have a good time and share an experience. It is obvious that in serious or strict environment, it is tough for people to enjoy at that time. However, in a lightened or interesting condition, people can converse with others more easily and they can share a memorable and happy experience together. According to a study conducted by the Times magazine in 2009, approximately 67.85 percent of people answered back that they could feel closer to those who were distant after watching funny movies together.
