Historically, education has solved many social problems and it has also helped develop societies. From this, we can say that education reflects the society. Nowadays, American society has been changed both socially and economically. According to these changes, education also needs to be fixed and altered in a way to improve and strengthen American society.
These days many people from foreign countries are coming to the United States to study. I came from South Korea to share my culture as an exchange student in an American high school last year. I found that the American education system and the South Korean education system have many differences. These education systems can also help to improve on each other’s drawbacks. After spending my senior summer back home in South Korea, I returned to go to an American college to improve my English skills. I feel strongly that the American education system gives students a lot of freedom. However, since I have been studying in America for a couple of years, I have also found some drawbacks to the American education system. From this experience I have discovered that, if the American educational system would adapt certain aspects of the South Korean educational system, American students could benefit greatly.
