Ⅰ. IntroductionIt has been almost 2 months since the sunken naval ship, Cheonan incident happened on March 26. A few days ago, the country officially reported an announcement that the cause of Cheonan incident was underwater explosion from torpedo which was fired by the North Korean mini-submarine. After the announcement, not only Korean people but also all people around the world are getting very interested in security.
As North and South Korea being the only divided countries where the war is still unfinished on earth, the interests on the district of Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), representing the opposition between the North and South, are gradually growing. The DMZ, a symbol of state of armistice, was installed after the Korean War and has ever since become a restricted area where general public’s access is controlled for about 50 years. On the other hand, due to this control, DMZ is also a natural ecosystem’s repository where diverse wildlife and wild plants live in. Therefore, I am going to examine in detail about the DMZ tourism and the current state of it.
Ⅱ. Main Issue
1. General definition of Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)
The district of DMZ can commonly be divided into DMZ, 민북지역, and a border region, but I am only going to briefly consider the region of DMZ. The DMZ is an area where the installation of armed forces, war materials and armaments
