1. Introduction
Traditional Animation
Traditional animation films refer to paper/ cell motion animation films. Just ten years ago every production process of animation films concerned manual work. In case of paper / cell animation films, all the production process from planning to shooting in actual production and editing was done manually. Character set, scene set (layouts), picture continuity (storyboard), key animation and in-between animation of animation, coloring (putting animation colors into cells) along with special effects were all done manually. After all, traditional animations means producing each frame one by one and sheeting them to make connected images. This essay will address how traditional animations have changed and developed with the digitalization in modern times, and examine how much combination has been made through the example of Innocence, a sequel to the Japanese animation film, The Ghost in the Shell.

It ranges from computer-generated special effects that stress photorealistic images (they are called modeling images) to 2D(flat images), 3D(three-dimensional image) and 4D (the axis of time added to stagnant space). Digital animation is usually passed for as 3D, but 2D animation production
