소개글
Choose any “political” phenomenon – domestic or international – that is best described by the Prisoner’s Dilemma game. Identify main actors, their preferences and strategies. In your example, did involved actors actually end up with mutual defection (DD)? If not, explain what happened.
[Extra Point] Other than “repeated” games, is there a way out of mutual defection (DD) in the Prisoner’s Dilemma?
위 질문에 대한 대답으로 게임이론을 독도사례를 들어 적용시킨 영문글.

본문내용
Territorial dispute over Dokdo is a good example of the PD game. Two countries, Korea and Japan play main actors in this game. The thing that both countries care is ‘economic interest’ and they act according to it. Because Dokdo has abundant fishery resources, underground resources and many locational benefits, they want to take advantages of it.
If both countries try to take it(DD), they have to spend additional defense budget and trade benefits will decrease because of the worsen relation between two. Therefore no one can touch the territory. If both cooperate and agree to use it together(CC), they can reduce the defense budget and develop the resources to use them more efficiently. By the way, if one country occupies the island and makes the other excluded from it, the occupying country can achieve the whole benefits. On the other hand, the other country will lose many things.
