Purpose of the experiment
To know how to make a biocompatible film
Principle of the experiment
CS-HA composite powders were synthesized through the reaction of H3PO4 and Ca(NO3)·4H2O in the chitosan-SBF environment. The as-synthesized Chitosan-HAp composite powders had an irregular spherical structure within nanometer scope. The main crystal phase is HAp. The in vitro bioactivity showed that Chitosan-HAp composite had better inducing Ca deposition ability than HAp, and the bioactivity became higher with increasing chitosan content in the composite. The addition of appropriate Chitosan-HAp powders into bioglass bone cement could improve both the compressive strength and bioactivity of bone cement, and the compressive strength increased up to the maximum when 10 %wt of HAp or Chitosan-HAp powders were added into the bioglass bone cement.
