1. There are a z-oriented dipole antenna. The center of dipole antenna is z = 0. The current density of antenna is presented below:
(a) Derive the electric field in the far-field region as given below:
(b) Plot the directivity pattern, , of each dipole antenna whose length is 0.5, 1, and 2 in the x-z plane and find the maximum directivity, , for each one.
(c) The equation which approximate the maximum directivity, D0, from the beamwidth is presented below:
2. When the length of a dipole antenna is (n is integer), the current density at z = 0 in Prob.1 is 0. But, the current density at z = 0 in actual situation is not 0. Solve the questions below using the current data which has the current density of the 1dipole antenna.
(a) Plot the current density of the attached dipole antenna and compare it with Prob 1.
(b) Plot the directivity of the attached dipole antenna in the x-z plane.
