□ Text : Practical English Conversation□ Unit : Introducing Our Culture to Others
□ The Methods of the Study
1) Presentation
A teacher shows students some pictures and ask them about the pictures. The teacher points to the picture and attempts to elicit the sentence the lesson aims at. The teacher models the sentence the teacher wants to focus on, giving the model in a natural way.
2) Cooperative group work
For a successful interactive task, a lot of talking should take place. Also, learners should be eager to talk and their participation should be as equal as possible. New language learned to date should be being used. Learners language accuracy should be an acceptable level and there should be little L1 interference or use. Choosing the appropriate task is important to stimulate and engage the class. Surveys and interviewing tasks make excellent interactive tasks across all levels. There are a number of benefits.
For the successful cooperative group work, there are a few guidelines as follows:
1) Give clear instructions
2) Give a goal and product
3) Help students prepare for the task
4) Give a time limit
5) Assign roles

High school students have been studying English for many years and thus have acquired more English ability than the simple target phrases of each chapter. Free talking sessions focus on natural communication more than grammatical accuracy or the use of specific target vocabulary. So much of the `conversation` that occurs in the English classroom is based on a specific topic. Culture introducing is very authentic situation that happens in that students have more chance to meet native speakers than before. Students can be able to get much information about Irish culture from the native teacher. Further, they would get the ability enough to explain Korean cultural points.
