본문내용
Mary River is an iron ore development project whose developer is Baffinland Iron Mines Corp. It is located in Baffin Island of northern Canada which has extremely cold climate in winter season. Traditional open pit mining method was selected for operation. 21 years of mine life and 18 Mtpa of ore production are forecasted based on currently estimated reserves volume. In a systematic point of view, mining can be divided into various systems and processes. Each process requires its own inputs and produces outputs which become new inputs to other processes. All systems and processes are associated with final mine output. Also, notable is the fact that there are key drivers which have substantial impact on overall mine output. It is essential that sensitivity analysis and management for those key drivers should be strategically implemented.
In this paper, open pit mining method of Mary River is categorized into exploration, planning / design,
