Introduction
Vomiting and Regurgitation are common occurrences in childhood.
70% - regurgitate daily
Phathologic GER
Physicians is to differentiate the symptoms that are physiologic and will resolve spontaneously from those that need medical or surgical intervention.
Recognition of these symptoms, followed by diagnostic evaluation and therapy is important to prevent the serious sepuelae of this pathologic process.
Definition
Pathologic consequences of the involuntary passage of gastric contents into the esophagus
Pathologic GER is most commonly seen in children with neurologic dysfunction
Children also have digestive symptoms
⇒ Frequent regurgitation, 성장의 장애, irritability, food
rejection, hematemesis, melena, dysphagia
Pathophysiology
Lower Esophageal Sphincter
- Lower Esophageal Sphincter
- Lower Esophageal Sphincter
⇒ Lower Esophageal Sphincter
(transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxations : TLESRs)
Lower Esophageal
