본문내용
Korea is the last divided country in the world. After World War Ⅱ, Korea was divided into South Korea and North Korea during the Cold War. As a result of the division, the Korean War broke out, and many families were separated. In this tragic division, there are some important events, critical factors, of the division of Korea. This essay describes the tragic process of Korean division dividing it into six stages.
At first, after World War Ⅱ, the Allied Nations pledged the independence of Korea through some international conferences. Korea had been under colonial rule by Japan, a defeated nation of World War Ⅱ, so nearing the end of World War Ⅱ, the Allied Nations started to discuss independence of Korea. The leaders of three countries, Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Jiang Jieshi, met at Cairo Conference. They declared, Korean will be independent “in due course.” Following the declaration of Cairo, independence of Korea was confirmed through the Yalta Conference and the Potsdam Declaration.
