There is no argument that English is an international communication tool so there is no argument about the benefits of using English. Graddol (1999) stated that the number of people using English as their second language will grow to around 462 million during the next 50 years. The important factor to remember is that the users of English are not just inner circle country people anymore. The majority of the users will be non-native speakers from outer circle countries so an appropriate pedagogy for English as an International Language (EIL) is strongly needed.
McKay (2003) urged that English no longer belongs to any culture in particular but teaching contexts and materials are focused on acquisitioning of inner circle cultures. However, as language imperialism is spread to English teachers of EFL and ESL situations. It is really easy to find that “We use American text books” in advertisement of many private language
