Sources of the Two Women’s Conflicts
In human nature, a conflict is an inevitable phenomenon that usually occurs unintentionally and unconsciously. Thus, the cause of a conflict can be very absurd and trivial because it is rather emotionally dealt- it is hard for humans to make a reasonable decision when they confront an unexpected situation, and they have tendency of self-nationalization. However, a conflict can bring serious consequences since the causes cannot always be manageable, inborn characteristics for example; the source of the conflict determines the outcome. In the “The Story of an Hour” and “A Sorrowful Woman,” both of the women’s conflicts in the stories ultimately lead them to death in the end. The sources of their conflicts in the two stories deal with themselves and the society.
