제 1 장 서 론제 1 절 연구의 배경 및 목적
1.1 연구의 배경 및 목적
개인교통수단인 자가용 승용차의 증가로 교통 혼잡이 가중되고 있으며, 도로소통능력의 한계와 늘어나는 교통량으로 인하여 대중교통수단인 시내버스의 속도 저하와 함께 정시성 확보가 어려워지고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 승용차 이용이 늘어나면서 버스 이용자가 점점 줄어들고, 이로 인해 시내버스의 운영이 더욱 어려워지면서 버스 이용자에 대한 서비스 수준이 다시 악화되는 악순환이 계속되고 있다.
급증하는 교통수요를 충족시키기 위하여 도로시설을 공급하는 데에는 공간적·시간적·재정적으로 한계가 있으므로 대중교통수단을 효율적으로 운영하여 수송능력을 제고시킬 수 있는 교통정책이 필요하다. 이에 따라서 서울시의 경우는 2004년 7월 1일 버스 노선체계, 운영체계, 요금체계 등 대중교통체계의 전면적 개편을 시행하였고, 대도시 중심으로 다양한 대중교통체계 개편을 추진하고 있다.
따라서 이 연구에서 국내 및 국외의 대중교통개편 사례 분석을 통하여 그에 따른 효과 및 이점을 살펴보고 또한 문제점 도출을 통해 올바른 방향으로의 개선방안을 도출해 보고자 한다.
1.2 연구의 범위와 내용
이 연구의 범위는 국내외 대중교통체계의 사례를 분석하여 효과 및 문제점을 알아보고 개선방안을 도출하여 보는 것이다.
연구의 주요 내용을 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
제1장에서는 연구의 배경 및 목적과 범위의 내용, 기존의 이론고찰, 그리고 버스전용차로제의 시행효과에 대해 다루고 있다.
제2장에서는 국외의 버스전용차로제에 관한 내용과 서울시 중앙버스전용차로제 사업에 관한 내용을 다루고 있다.
제3장에서는 중앙버스전용차로제의 시행효과와 문제점, 그리고 개선방안의 내용을 담고 있다.
제4장에서는 전체적인 내용의 요약과 결론을 다루고 있다.
제5장에서는 참고문헌을 다루고 있다.
