본문내용
Nickel and Dimed, real life account of what it takes for a person to get by while holding a minimum wage job. The author gives a firsthand account of trying to live in low wage America. She had jobs everywhere from Florida, Maine, and Minnesota, and held such positions as a waitress, hotel maid, house cleaner, nursing home aide, and Wal-Mart associate. At some of the places she found that she had no choice but to hold more than one job at a time, just to be able to survive. This book is a prime example of the tireless plight of the lowest paid workers in America, and how they have to go to extreme measures just to be able to feed themselves. k to earn almost nothing.

I believe that the policy that could fix the problems that Nickel and Dimed makes evident is enacting a real living minimum wage. This living wage should include the cost of living a person encounters in that area, along with very populated areas because the cost of living is higher there. I believe if the government enacted a real living wage, it would help out the lower income people to where they will be able to survive or even save from the job they have.
