During the period from 1000 to 1750 in West Africa and South Asia, their culture and philosophy remained relatively unchanged because of their own religion and values, but Islam led to increasing economic activity and cultural trade, and produce widespread calls for new practice to be blended with their traditional culture.
First, to better understand the impact of Islam on West Africa and South Asia during this period, one must take a look at what these areas were like prior to the introduction of Islam. Before 1000, early West African religious beliefs varied from place to place, but they shared pantheism, belief in a single creator god from whom all things came. There were no written languages or well refined administrative rules so it was hard to communicate and trade. South Asia has historically served as a land bridge for the peoples between counties like the Indian subcontinent, and the more than 25,000 islands of the South Pacific.
