Rethinking Definition of “Optimism”
When I encountered the word “optimism” at the first time, this word made me smile. Even though I didn’t know if the word is kind of difficult or not, the translational meaning of optimism in Korean sounds a little difficulty, so I just passed the word without picking it up. I just looked through the list of the words that my professor offered and I thought other words were more proper for the last assignment. When I met this word at I didn’t le pessimist before I entered to the university, but now I am sure I am a real optimist because I am trying to think optimistically. I think laughing a lot is related to optimism. I like laughing, and I do so a lot. My nickname among the international students is even “a laughing girl.”

The difference in the usages of optimism is because of personal thing, especially their thoughts. Optimism is accepted by good or bad meaning. Some people think optimism is not valuable for the meaningful life and believe optimism is a dangerous thing, but some other people think mism is necessary and precious for our life. The people of the former may say that they don’t believe optimism any more, but do act. However, the latter people can say that they think positively, everything is fine, so don’t worry about your problems. Good things will come to you.
