본문내용
Discuss the impact of the end of the Cold War on US foreign policy. The foundation of U.S, foreign policy can be represented as debate between isolationism and internationalism. Isolationism has been one of the basic principles of U.S foreign policy since the establishment of country. It is based on the idea that U.S national interests are the most ensured when it distances itself from international affairs. On the other hand, internationalism represents the idea that a positive foreign policy is necessary to protect and expand U.S national interest. This view premises an idea that US never can be totally free from international circumstances. In other word, since international issues are inevitably related to US national interest, keeping out of international affairs will eventually lead to self-destruction. Bipolar international formation came to end from late 1980s when Eastern Europe was fallen.
