1. Should EMI license its invention? What are the pros and cons of such a decision?
I think that EMI need not to license its invention. Pros are less than cons of such a decision.
In terms of pros, there are two things. First, they can lower the costs. Namely, Licensing does significantly lower the risk by lowering the investment. Second, by licensing, EMI could gain access to overseas markets especially if the partners may already have set up branches. EMI would be able to reach a much larger network of potential clients. On the other hands, there are three cons. First, it could be limited promotion and attention from big players. Second is that smaller companies may lack commitment and urgency. Only EMI will act with the urgency that is required to protect their intellectual property and competitive advantage.
