소개글
북미 명문대학에서 계절학기에 제출한 에세이입니다. A- 받았습니다. 대륙철학과목이었고 키에르케고르와 헤겔을 비교분석하는 에세이였습니다. 감사합니다.

본문내용
Hegel and Kierkegaard have a different understanding toward what the truth is. Hegel thinks there only exists the objective truth and it experiences progress in the human history. Kierkegaard thinks there is a subjective part of our thinking which is hard to be made explicit to others. While I think there are objective truths, I do not think they are the only truths. Moreover, what is direct to a subjective thinker is the subjective truth. Especially, when we think about artistic matters, it is hard to deny there exists a subjective truth.
Thus, that there exists a subjective truth is a hard thing to deny. Even if we can observe a general phenomenon in the human history, this does not lead us to conclude that there would be the absolute knowledge where the subjective truth cannot have its existence. In my opinion, while this is just a social phenomenon which are generally consisted by indirect experiences, that we do indirect communication and that we have a subjective aspect of our thinking is supported by our direct consciousness. Therefore, I think Kierkegaard is right in supporting the existence of subjective truth.
