Born on May 25 1803 in Boston, Massachusetts, Emerson experienced a period of deaths concerning family members and loved ones.
First, his household minister died right when he hit the age of eight. Earlier, though, his father died, leaving him to become very close to his mother, siblings, and Aunt Mary Moody, who had a great influence on him.
