본문내용
With the rise in globalisation and a global economy crisis, it is becoming essential to find a professional leader to lead enterprises appropriately. Professional leaders have their own leadership styles, and a leadership style is one of the extremely important factors to make companies successful or unsuccessful. Also, leadership affects effectiveness of organisation and leaders themselves. According to Merrill and Reid (1981), researchers commonly agree that leadership styles can be divided by two interactive elements in human behaviour: assertiveness and responsiveness. Darling and Leffel (2010) have developed their theory that separates leadership into four styles depend on how much assertiveness and responsiveness a leader has. Based on Darling and Leffel’s (2010) framework, this essay will present how Meg Whitman’s leadership style of Analyser and Connector made her such an effective leader as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hewlett-Packard (HP).
